Our lead story today simply boggles my mind. I've spent a fair bit of time riding my bike in unicycle mode over the years, but Frenchman Oscar Delaite's recent marathon is truly astonishing – setting a "new unofficial world record of 93.5 miles of continuous wheelie." Enjoy !

From the vault

G'day all, Loz here. Little bit of a slow news day for us, I've been holding too many of the team up on the phone today!

So the list's a little thin - but that's an opportunity to get something going that I've been meaning to for a long time - a new occasional section called "from the vault," where we'll sometimes feature stories from a while back that still blow our minds.

I can't think of a better example than the one I've thrown in today about Michael Levin's absolutely incredible work in cellular intelligence. If you haven't encountered this stuff before, strap yourself in for a highly entertaining ride that'll fundamentally change your understanding of nature and take you to the brink of philosophy in the process.

It was a dream to research and write, and still amazes me to this day. Interviewing Michael Levin is firmly on my bucket list and I must get around to reaching out!

As you can tell, I'm a little excited about this one, the fact that some of you probably haven't read it yet is like the feeling I get when I discover a friend that hasn't seen "Everything Everywhere All At Once" yet. It's a great joy to be there for somebody's first time!

☺ Loz

This may be about as wildly entertaining, disruptive and philosophically profound as legitimate scientific research gets. Michael Levin's work in cellular intelligence, bioelectrical communication and embodied minds "is going to overturn everything."
